“Friends for Charity – Community of volunteers” has ribbon cutting at 109 E. Harvey

Friends for Charity

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Thursday morning for Wellington’s newest business – “Friends for Charity.”

The business is located adjacent to the Security State Bank building at 109 E. Harvey in Wellington. Friends for Charity is made up of volunteers who make quilts and many other items required to fill a need, even if those receiving the give cannot help those in return.

Ginny Schon, president of Friends for Charity, presented 100 lap quilts for the VFW to give to the Veterans Home in Winfield by Christmas. Video of the presentation with VFW representative Charles Lawless is as follows:
