Fundraiser to be held Sept. 28 to help Vanda Neely pay for husband’s medical expenses
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Vanda Neely, a recent recipient of the 2013 Professional Women’s Business Award, is in need of your help.
Neely’s husband Randy was in a trucking accident on July 16. He is currently in the Arkansas Rehab Center and is slowly recovering from head trauma. It’s going to be a long road for Randy to recover.
People may remember that Randy used to work at the Wellington Farmers’ Co-op and has many friends and farmers whom he worked with in the area.
On Saturday, Sept. 28 there will be a fundraiser to help the Neelys with medical expenses from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Daylight Donut Shop in downtown Wellington.
There will be a meal with drink and dessert. Throughout the meal there will be a K-State Memorabilia Silent Auction which will end at 7 p.m.
“Come out and show your purple pride for this great town we live in,” said Debra Sisson, who is helping organize the event.
