GKN officials donate toys to Operation Holiday.

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Noon Wellington Lions Club received a generous donation from GKN Aerospace Precision Machining, Inc. of toys as part of its Operation Holiday toy drive.

The Lions Club is currently collecting toys that will be given to needy families. The distribution of toys will be held on Dec. 21 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Knight of Columbus building located at 201 E. Harvey. An application is listed below if you feel like you are eligible for the toys.

GKN officials came to the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce office on Wednesday to provide the toys. Those representing GKN were, from right: Daryle Taylor, general manager/vice presiding; Lori Day, director of contracts; Bill Tehel, vice president of operations.

Members of the Noon Wellington Lions Club present were, from left: Michelle Wellington, Jane Cole, Don Rager, Leonard Scheufler, Linda Metzen, Larry Mangan, Heidi Theurer and Perry Wiley.

People can still donate toys as well as diapers and children’s clothing by dropping off items at the following locations:

SRMC, Main Street Printing, Barbara Jon’s, Orcshelns, Wellington city building, Futures Unlimited, Triumph, GKN, Wal-Mart (both entrance, Koehn Motors, SSB, National Farmers Union, and the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce office.

Jane Cole member of the Wellington Lions Club said people do not need to wrap presents when making donations. In fact, they would prefer them not to be.
