Going in Style to be played at Wellington Regent this weekend

This week at the Regent Theater: “Going in Style”

Schedule: Special screening tonight at 7 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 7 p.m.

Feature film rating: PG-13 (for drug content, language, and some suggestive material).

Time: 1 hour 37 minutes.

Movie Synopsis: Oscar winners Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”), Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules,” “Hannah and Her Sisters”) and Alan Arkin (“Little Miss Sunshine”) team up as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty, in director Zach Braff’s comedy “Going in Style.”

Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.

Rotten Tomatoes rating (movie critics collective approval ratings): 44%. Audience review: 63% liked it. Critic’s consensus: Depite the considerable talent of its leads, Going in Style is light on laughs and plays it safe far too often.
