Help wanted: Communications Specialist at Sumner Cowley Electric Cooperative.

OUR TEAM IS GROWING!  

Sumner Cowley Electric Cooperative is looking to fill the position of Member Services and Communications Specialist.  This position provides communication/public relations related information to the membership of Sumner Cowley Electric Cooperative Inc.  Tasks include (but are not limited to) constructing and maintaining the Cooperative website, representing the Cooperative as necessary at various community events, participates in planning, preparation, and support of the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting, implementing and updating the Cooperative social media outlets, and coordinating the monthly submission of the Kansas Country Living magazine center spread.

A professionally qualified candidate would possess a college degree and/or at least four years of related work experience with proficiency in computers and various office technologies.  Experience with a social media campaign, including tracking analytics, is a must.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is responsible, punctual, and able to contribute to a highly collaborative environment. This role needs someone who is creative, enthusiastic and is eager to be involved in the Cooperative community.  Preferred educational qualifications should include a post-secondary degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, or a relevant field.  

This position requires proof of a valid driver’s license.  

This full-time position will work Monday through Friday 8-5  (occasional after-hours for remote administration of electronic communication is required).  Additional Salary Information:  We have a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and prescription insurance along with company contribution to an HSA.  A defined benefit pension plan with age 62 retirement along with a defined contribution 401k plan.  Other benefits include life insurance, long-term disability, business travel insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays.
