Sumner Newscow report — Two people suffered severe burns in an explosion that has leveled a home, according to Wichita media reports.
The explosion was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of North Geuda Springs Road, which is southeast of Belle Plaine. Gordon Fell with the City of Mulvane told KAKE-TV that the city’s fire department arrived to find the home leveled and two victims were inside. Both were taken to Wichita hospitals for treatment.
Fell said the two people hurt were doing maintenance at the home.
Crews were still working to extinguish the fire over an hour later. No one else was hurt. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
That city’s fire department said on Facebook that they along with units from Derby, Belle Plaine and Udall were assisting.
