Hug, the pug, is the Wellington Humane Society pet of the week
The Wellington Pet of the Week is Hug the Pug!
Hug is a Pug and Laborador mix weighing 33 pounds and approximately 10 years old. Sadly, she wasn’t being taken care of by her people, so she was pulled from the home and sent to a kill shelter. Since Hug is older than most in a shelter overfull of dogs, she would be a top candidate for euthanasia to make room for incoming dogs. We couldn’t pass up that toothy grin of hers!
She is now safe in our shelter until she finds a home that is willing to love her, no matter how many years she has left! She is super sweet with everyone that she meets. She has been around children, but we aren’t sure about other dogs or cats. Due to her age, she has some mild arthritis, but it doesn’t affect her mobility. She would enjoy a comfy bed and someone to nap with and probably a treat or two! Do you have room in your home and heart for this sweet girl?
Dogs are only $25 during December! Stop in and meet a new friend! You can fill out the application online before you come in to speed up the adoption process.

Other Information if you would like to post….
We have a Christmas Card Project during the month of December. Anyone, adult or child is welcome to create and write a Christmas card to our animals. They can start by searching our website for a dog or cat they prefer. Then simply write them a card and mail it or bring it in. We will post on our social media the cards that come in. There is more information on our website about this project and our address. www.wellingtonhumanesociety.org/christmascards
This is an inexpensive project for classes, senior centers, daycares, or individuals to spread some holiday cheer to the animals while they wait for their fur-ever homes! If you want to purchase a gift for the animals, we have a Christmas tree at Orscheln’s in Wellington with tags of our adoptable animals with items they would enjoy.
