Hunter Lough signs with Newman University to participate in cross country
Sumner Newscow report — Wellington High School senior Hunter Lough signs with Newman University to run cross country.
The signing ceremony took place in the high school gymnasium last week. Newman is an NCAA Div. II school competing in the MIAA Conference.
Lough has helped Wellington win the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. IV last fall as the Crusaders’ top runner. He also helped Wellington to qualify twice as a team for the first time since 1989. At the Class 4A State meet at Wamego Country Club, Lough finished 33rd in the 5K race with a 17:59.63 time leading the Crusaders to a 1oth-place finish.
Hunter is also quite a musician performing as a lead singer for the Lough Brothers.
