Jalen Christopher Macias, of Wellington, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the age of 28.

Jalen was born the son of Chris Macias and Monica Wilson on June 18, 1996, in Wellington.

A charismatic spirit, Jalen was the life of the party and brought joy to everyone around him. A talented baseball player, Jalen’s dedication to the sport led him to play collegiately at Cloud County Community College. Off the field, he was a diehard fan of the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Braves, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His spirited enthusiasm for his teams was contagious and a testament to his commitment and passion.

Jalen was not just a gifted athlete, but also a talented mechanic, dedicating his professional life to the aerospace industry. In his free time, he expressed his creativity through music, a passion that provided him a special sort of solace and joy. Always eager for competition and the great outdoors, Jalen often spent his free time on the golf course, practicing his swing and enjoying the company of close friends and family. His charm, talent, and dedication made him a well-loved figure, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Jalen is survived by his loving parents, Chris (Angelie) Macias of Wellington, KS; siblings: Brayden Macias of Wellington, KS; Easton Macias of Wellington, KS; Keyan Macias of Wellington, KS; Mikelle Wilson of Wichita, KS; son, Pryce James Macias of Wellington, KS; grandparents: Vince (Rosa) Macias of Wellington, KS; Brad(Laura) Dorsey of Wichita, KS; Mike (Shelly) Wilson of Medicine Lodge, KS; Karla Atkinson of Wichita, KS; aunts and uncles: Anna (Mike ) Sandell of Wellington, KS; Sondra (Brad) Ashens of Wellington, KS; Tammy (Leland) Sears of Derby, Ks; Vince (Gillian) Macias of Wichita, KS; Joshua Cantrell of Wichita, KS; Amber (James) Gressel of Wichita, KS; Brandon Long of Wichita, KS; cousins: Colan Macias of Wichita, KS; Alayna Macias of Houston, TX; Ryan (Lisa) Sandell of Wichita, KS; Aaron Sandell of Wellington, KS; mother, Monica Wilson of Wichita, KS; and special friend, Shayna Posey of Wichita, KS along with numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

A viewing for Jalen will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington, Kansas, 67152.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 at St Anthony & St Rose Catholic Church, 210 North B Street, Wellington, KS.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the St Anthony & St Rose Catholic Church, 210 North B Street, Wellington, KS. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington, KS.
