Janet Janney, 59 of Wellington, died on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.

Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington. Private family graveside services will follow at the Caldwell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church of Wellington.

Janet LaJean Janney was born on November 12, 1956 the second daughter of four children born to Cecil and Patricia (Cornwall) Cole. She grew up in Caldwell, Kansas where she met her husband, Cecil Janney. They were united in marriage on November 16, 1974. She was a 1974 graduate of the Caldwell High School.

Janet attended WSU and Cowley Colleges. Janet worked as a Case Manager of both SRS and Independent Living Resource Center. Janet enjoyed going to auctions, collecting antiques, shopping and crafting. Janet loved spending time with family, especially Barkly, and Christmas time.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Cecil Janney; son, Dane Janney and wife Ashely of Wichita and four grandchildren: Mason, Dixon, Lennyn and Fallyn of Wichita; brothers, Doran Cole and wife Lisa of Rosehill, KS and Jay Cole of Caldwell, KS and sister, Lisa Cole of Wellington.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
