Jason Boyd has filed for position of Sumner County Commissioner
Submitted to Sumner Newscow — Jason Boyd has filed for the position of Sumner County Commissioner, District 3.
Boyd is the son of the late former Sumner County Sheriff Kenneth Boyd.
Boyd, age 30, has been employed in law enforcement the past four years and prior to that was an eight-year employee of the railroad.
He is also a 240-acre land owner in Sumner County.Â
“I am aware of concerns surrounding the district,” Boyd said. “Having recently constructed a home in rural South Haven, I have first-hand knowledge of involvement in becoming a home owner.”
Boyd said he will strive for fair taxes for all citizens.
The 30-year-old was raised with a strong old-fashioned tradition of respect, but he can also bring a younger perspective to the commission.
“I look forward to an opportunity to work with local government and keep a line of communication open,” Boyd said. “I will strive to be a responsible and understanding voice for the people of Sumner County.”
