Update: Joshua Blackwill has been found
Update:Â A man who escaped from custody in Cowley County Sunday is now back behind bars. Joshua Blackwill took off on foot while working trash detail.
Blackwill was on the loose for about nine hours but was picked up by the Wichita Police Department just before 11 p.m. Law enforcement found him in the 400 block of North Kansas.
Blackwill was taken into custody and brought back to the Cowley County. He was booked for aggravated escape from custody
Sumner Newscow report — Cowley County authorities are looking for a jail inmate who escaped from custody this afternoon.
30-year-old Joshua B. Blackwill, originally from Wichita, escaped around 1:45 p.m., according to Sheriff David Falletti. Details of that escape were not provided.
Blackwill is described as a white male with short brown hair and blue eyes. The escapee was last seen in the area of Eighth and Loomis in Winfield. He was running east on Eighth.
Blackwill was wearing a tan jumpsuit with “Porter†on the back. If located do not approach and immediately call 911.
Blackwell has multiple previous convictions for charges that include theft and criminal damage to property.
