Juneteenth was a celebration for all in Wellington this Saturday

Sumner Newscow report — Erma Ratliff, organizer of the Wellington Juneteenth celebration, reported more than 300 people came to the first annual Juneteenth celebration held at Madison Park Saturday afternoon.

The community event was a fun-filled event that included a bounce house, cornhole tournament, live DJ and food trucks, 3-on-3 basketball and more.

3-on-3 basketball games were one of the highlights at the event.

Caleb Noyes, Landyn Glenn, and Teagan Thompson out of Caldwell were the winners of the 3-on-3 tournament.

Children enjoyed being cooled off with the Wellington Fire Truck.

Two soldiers dressed up as Buffalo Soldiers in the Calvary.

The Wellington Noon Lions Club provided free watermelon at the celebration.

People had a great time at the first annual Juneteenth celebration in Wellington.
