Kelvin Duane Wartick, 71, of Wellington, died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Kelvin was born the son of Duane and Darlene (Waugh) Wartick on February 22, 1951 in Wichita.

He served in the Navy for 6 years as a nuclear technician, spending most of his time on a nuclear submarine. 

Kelvin met Virginia Beth (Heath) while stationed in North Carolina. They were united in marriage on October 22nd, 1972 in the small town of Pickens, North Carolina. 

He spent many years on the road driving trucks, hauling everything from grain to windmill blades. Kelvin proudly received the One Million Safe Driving Miles award.

Survivors include his son, Garry Wartick of Wellington; brother, Richard and Linda Wartick of Wellington; niece, Saleena Battin (David) of Salina; niece, Patti Black (Chris) of Wichita; niece, Laura Wartick of Purdy, Missouri; nephew, John Wartick (Elise) of Wellington  and many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beth Wartick; daughter, Leslie Wartick; and brother, Kenny Wartick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
