Little on the agenda for tonight’s final meeting for current council
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The current Wellington City Council will hold its final regular meeting as this particular group tonight, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the council chambers.
A special meeting, as mandated by the Kansas State Legislature, will be held Monday, Jan. 8 to induct the new members. Jennifer Heersche, Joe Soria, and Kevin Dodds. Those three will replace Jan Korte, Bill Butts and Vince Wetta.
In the meantime, the old council will have one meeting to conduct business and it doesn’t appear to be a big one. There are no resolutions, no ordinance, and no discussions placed on tonight’s agenda. Wellington City Council members are expected to hear from Dr. Randy Grill about the problems with pit bulls within the Wellington City Limits.
