Lucky Day is the Wellington Humane Society Pet of the Week

Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington Humane Society Pet of the Week is Lucky Day!

Lucky Day is one lucky pup! He is estimated to be around 7-8 months old, and he’s already been through a lot! He and his two brothers — Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlander — were found dumped by the south turnpike terminal in Sumner County.

Thanks to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Deputies and a concerned neighbor, they were trapped and brought in. He came in emaciated, full of fleas and ticks, and vomiting small rocks that were eaten due to starvation. Through all of that, he is still a super sweet dog that loves to give kisses! He is now fixed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and ready to find a loving home to appreciate him as part of the family!

Stop in this week to meet this special pet! The humane society is open Wednesday through Friday, 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested in adoption, please complete the online application before entering to speed up the adoption process. The WHS officials will go in order of application received, so the sooner you get in your application, the better! And don’t forget, the Pet of the Week has a discounted adoption fee ($50 off dogs & $10 off cats) during their week!
