Male subject at large after allegedly shooting in Argonia last Sunday
Sumner Newscow report — On Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 7:26 p.m., Sumner County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of West Walnut Street in Argonia for a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they learned there was a disturbance between a female and a male subject who were known to each other.
The male subject allegedly pointed a rifle at the female and then proceeded to shoot at an unoccupied vehicle, striking it several times. The female subject was not injured.
The suspect, Nathan C. Owens, a 42-year-old white male, left the area before the deputy’s arrival. Owens is known to stay in the Medford, Oklahoma area. He currently has a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Threat, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits, and Aggravated Endangering a Child.
