(Updated Friday morning) Many activities planned for Easter weekend in Sumner County

by Amber Schmitz, Sumner Newscow — With Easter approaching this weekend, many activities are planned.

South Haven 4-H will be having its Annual Easter Egg hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15t at the South Haven School for ages 0 to 12.

That same day the 4-H will sponsor a rabies clinic held at the South Haven Community Building from 9 a.m. to noon.

Pokemon hunt

With school being out on Good Friday, a Pokemon Hunt will be held at the Wellington Public Library during business hours. Youth can hunt for Pokemon characters hidden throughout the library and earn coins.

The Pokemon coins can be exchanged for Pokemon characters of the participant’s choice to be printed on the library’s 3-D printer. This is a free event open to the public.

Orscheln Farm egg hunt

On Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., Orscheln Farm and Home will be hosting an egg hunt inside their store for all ages. This is a free event open to the public.

Blake Humphrey is happy to get some eggs last Easter at the Kimball Insurance Agency Easter Egg hunt.

Kimball Insurance Agency and friends will be hosting the annual egg hunt on Saturday at noon at Hargis Creek. Candy and eggs will be scattered all over the grass areas for various age groups. Pose with the Easter Bunny and Fire Pup, who will arrive on a fire truck.

On Easter Sunday, join a non-denominational community sunrise service and breakfast at 6:30 a.m. at Slate Creek Lodge, 403 SW Rd., Wellington. Following the service, join them for a Resurrection Celebration in their church sanctuary at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. A children’s Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m.
