Marguerite “Susie” Grimes, 60, of Mulvane, KS, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at her home in Mulvane.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., on Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. Marguerite Estelle Bucher was born September 6, 1957, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Roy) Bucher in Wichita, KS. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1975 and McPherson College in 1979. In 1979, Susie became a social working primarily in Iola, Garnett and Mound City, KS retiring in 2010 as a supervisor. Susie was united in marriage to Marvin Gene Grimes in 1993.

She was active in starting the summer lunch program in Garnett, KS and fund raising for USD 365 Endowment Fund. She was also active with the Volunteer Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary in Anderson County. Susie was a breast cancer survivor and faithfully served as a volunteer for WINGS, a support group for breast cancer survivors.

Susie is survived by her sister, Neida Dunn and her husband Larry of Wellington, KS, brothers: Jon Bucher and his wife Susan of Searcy, Ark., Samuel Bucher and his wife Jane of Haviland, Kans., Danny Bucher of Wichita, and James Bucher of Arkansas City; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Duane Bucher, and a nephew, Jon Aric Bucher.
