Sumner Newscow report — There was a mobile home fire at 1 a.m. Saturday morning at 1804 North A in Wellington.

The mobile home is owned by Scott Campbell. David Frank was listed as an occupant of the trailer at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.

Upon arrival, the Wellington Fire Department found the mobile home with significant fire involvement. A crew of 13 WFD firefighters began attacking the fire with three hose lines. The Mayfield and Belle Plaine Fire Department provided mutual aid.

Fire conditions made entering the structure impossible until the fire was controlled defensively. The two people in the trailer at the time escaped unharmed. There was an unknown number of animals that perished in the fire as the trailer was fully consumed by fire.

There were no injuries and the occupant of the trailer is being sought for questioning. There was no natural gas or electricity connected to the trailer, but extension cords were run from neighboring trailers across a parking lot to the fire trailer.

A close wood fence suffered damage to an approximately 8-foot section.

There was $2,000 fire loss to the mobile home and contents.
