Monday, BNSF will be making railroad crossing repairs on K-55 Highway outside Belle Plaine
Submitted to Sumner Newscow — Starting on Monday, May 16, the BNSF Railway Co will begin a permitted railroad crossing repair project on K-55 Highway just outside of the City of Belle Plaine on the western city limits in Sumner County. The purpose of the railroad crossing repair project is to conduct routine maintenance and necessary upgrades. It is scheduled to be completed the following day on May 17, depending on delays due to adverse weather conditions.
Local traffic will need to use alternate routes. With both lanes being affected and closed by the project, through traffic will be detoured around the closing using US-81, K-53 and K-15 Highways. Potential time delays up to thirty minutes can be expected.
