National Weather Service issues red flag fire warning for Sumner County until 11 a.m. tomorrow

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory for Sumner County in effect now until 11 a.m. for Friday, March 31, 2023.
The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory or a Red Flag Fire WARNING for Sumner County. When this happens all outdoor burning is prohibited as per County Resolution 2011-47.
Details of the weather conditions are as follows:
THURSDAY: Southerly winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph is expected, along with low relative humidities and extremely dry vegetation will make this a VERY HIGH Grassland Fire Danger weather day.
There is a chance for a few storms late tonight through Friday a.m. A few strong to marginally severe storms are possible… this is a conditional chance, as storms may struggle to form.
FRIDAY: Westerly winds will be in the 30 to 40 mph range, with gusts to around 60 mph… accompanied with less than 15% humidity and very dense, dry vegetation… will elevate the Grassland Fire Danger Index into the EXTREME category for Friday. This is a particularly dangerous situation for south central and southeast Kansas.
All outdoor burning should be avoided… ANY outdoor fires that develop will spread rapidly and become uncontrollable very quickly.
