No survivors from plane crash near 95th St. South and Webb Road in Derby area

Sumner Newscow report — According to the Derby Informer, there are no survivors from a plane that crashed in a field near 95th St. South and Webb Road at 10:18 this morning.

The small plane has not been identified nor is it known how many passengers were inside the plane, but pieces of human remains were found at the crash site, Sheriff Jeff Easter said.

There was a small fire which was quickly extinguished. Easter said debris was falling from the plane prior to the crash and it is believed the plane took off from Mid-Continent Airport.

A resident north of the crash site said it sounded like the plane flew right over his house. Others in the area reported the impact of the crash shook their homes.

FAA and NTSB officials will be on site to investigate. 95th Street will continue to be closed between Rock and Greenwich.
