Norman ‘Phil’ Harris, 79, Caldwell: Sept. 25, 1940 – July 8, 2020
On July 8, 2020 Norman Phillip Harris, a loving husband and father of 3, died at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas following a lengthy illness.
Phil was born September 25, 1940 in Caldwell, to Norman Keith Harris and Lola Gale Volk. He attended South Haven schools and graduated High School in 1958. After graduation he attended Ark City Junior College. In 1964 Phil was drafted to the United States Army where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He remained in the Army Reserves until 1988.
On March 20, 1966 he married Jacquie Koblitz in Wellington. Phil and Jacquie adopted 3 children: Rebecca Sue, Darren Phillip and Joshua Paul. They raised their family in South Haven, where the couple resided for 54 years of marriage.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of the home, his 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and one foster child. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul Harris of Caldwell, Kansas.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2020, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the South Haven Fair Association or to the Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
