Sumner Newscow report — The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a FLOOD WARNING for northeast Sumner County…in effect now until 4 pm today, Thursday, July 30.

 Thunderstorms that are producing heavy rain falls in areas north of Sumner County are causing immediate flooding issues along streams, waterways and other tributaries. People are advised to watch for water over roadways while driving, especially in low lying areas that are susceptible to flash flooding. Remember that 6” of water can remove a vehicle from the road. So if you see water crossing a roadway, be safe…”Turn around, Don’t drown!”
