Payton Baker is winner of Sumner Newscow-The Dore Bowl Contest; Etter purchases second scoreboard
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Payton Baker was the winner of the second annual Sumner Newscow-The Dore Bowl Contest. Baker recently was given the $100 prize by The Dore owner Kip Etter.
Baker said he is going to use the money to purchase gas for his pickup.
The second place prize was a $50 gift certificate to the Dore which went to Tom Ybarra. Tommy Norris finished third and won a $25 gift certificate.Â

Speaking of The Dore, Kip Etter also bought the second old Middle School scoreboard which was auctioned off Friday at the high school basketball game by USD 353. He was the winning bidder purchasing the scoreboard for $650. He said he is going to put the scoreboard on his wall at the eating-drinking business.
The money for the scoreboard will be going toward the Wellington After-School Program. Brady Walker bought the first scoreboard for $700. The grand total for the two scoreboards were $1,350.
