Peggy Nugen, 88, of Wellington, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the  Cherished Friends Assisted Living in Wellington, Kansas.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington. Visitation will be held Tuesday   from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home in Wellington with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established with the Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left with or mailed to the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wellington.
Peggy Ilene Nugen was born on December 2, 1923 the daughter of John E. and Zella Swonger Williams in Sawyer, Kansas. She was a 1941 graduate of Wellington High School. On August 7, 1943 she was united in marriage with Albert “Junior†Nugen.  Peggy worked at the Hollingsworth Dental office and at Clarks Manufacturing during World War II. She worked as nurses’ aid at the Wellington Hospital for many years. Peggy was also a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting and quilting. She was a member of the Eastern Star, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Surviving to honor her memory is are her children; Sheryl Blake and husband Johnny of Wellington, Ron Nugen and wife Connie of Sierra Vista, AZ, Kent Nugen and wife Terri of Pacifica, CA, Greg Nugen and wife Sammie of Wellington, sister-in-law, Ema Lou Wiliams of Kalispell, MT grandchildren Scott Blake and wife Teresa of Milan, KS, Donice Smock and husband Mike of Caldwell, KS, Tarin Dorcy and husband Mike of Oak Harbor, WA, Megan Isbelle and husband Jared of Danielson CN, Jeff Nugen of Dallas, TX, Craig Nugen and wife Kelly of San Marcos, CA, Amber Rodriguez of Sierra Vista, AZ and Katie Bowen and husband Jeremy of Wichita, 19 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Albert and brother Richard Williams.
