Phyllis Helen Mills McClaflin, 83, Milan: Aug. 8, 1932 – April 8, 2016
The true essence of Phyllis Helen Mills McClaflin can’t be expressed by mere words.
It is difficult to capture the love and joy she felt for life and family. She was born Aug. 8, 1932 in Wakita, OK and died peacefully at home in Milan, KS with family at her side on April 8, 2016. She married her high school sweetheart on Aug. 8, 1951.
They lived in Arkansas City for about a year and a half, moved to Wichita and in 1963 Harold found a home for them in Milan, KS. She and Harold loved to dance, play cards, camp, go to the lake, bowl and travel. They traveled to all 50 states and 26 countries during their adventures.
Along with her beloved husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, 1 great-granddaughter. Her laugh will be missed by 2 brothers, 2 sisters; her children, Tony (Tonya) McClaflin, Terry (Ann) McClaflin, Joyce (Richard) Goble, Brenda (Harold) Olmstead, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren (+2 on the way).
Rosary will begin at 7 p.m, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Cornejo|Day Funeral Home, Wellington, KS. Funeral Mass is at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Clyde Cemetery, Clyde, Okla.
