Possible flooding tonight according to National Weather Service

Submitted to Sumner Newscow — The Sumner County Emergency Management office has issued a warning of possible flood warning over the next two days.

Showers and storms are expected today and especially tonight across south central and eastern Kansas. The more intense showers and storms will likely produce very high rainfall rates on the order of 2-3 inches per hour which may lead to flooding. The best chance for flooding on a more widespread scale looks to be very late this afternoon and this evening for the Flint Hills into parts of eastern Kansas. Downburst winds up to 50 mph will also be possible with the stronger storms.
