Railroad crossing closing for repairs in Harper begins Oct. 27
Sumner Newscow report — Starting on Thursday, October 27, the BNSF Railway Co will begin a permitted railroad crossing repair project between  K-14/W. 8th St. and K14/NE 100 Road on K-14 Highway, at the city limits of the City of Harper in Harper County. The purpose of the railroad crossing repair project is to conduct routine maintenance and necessary upgrades. It is scheduled to be completed around October 28, depending on delays due to adverse weather conditions.
Local traffic will need to use alternate routes. With both lanes being affected and closed by the project, through traffic will be detoured using state routes K-42, K-2 and US-160 with posted signage. Time delays of more than 30 minutes can be expected.
