Raymond Arthur Burr, 84, of Wellington, died peacefully on July 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born on May 3, 1942, in Arkansas City, to Aaron and Flossie Burr. He was one of six children and grew up alongside his siblings, Linda Jean, Jackie Marie, Timothy Douglas, Teresa Ann, and Johnny Zellmer. He was known for his outgoing personality, adventurous spirit, and ability to make friends wherever he went. Raymond lived life to the fullest and brought joy and laughter to those around him.
Raymond dedicated 32 years of his career to Cessna Aircraft, where he took great pride in his work. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, visiting the casino, and following horse racing. His love for horses led him to become a racehorse trainer, a passion that reflected his adventurous nature. Raymond also enjoyed trying new restaurants and spending time with friends, often sharing good conversation and a cold drink.
Family was the center of Raymond’s life. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who treasured the time he spent with those he loved. His family brought him great pride and happiness, and the memories they created together will be forever cherished.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Christy (Kyle Farris) Porter and Julia Stewart; stepdaughter, Teresa (Allen) McGeough; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Flossie Burr; his siblings; his first wife, Brenda Cummins; and his second wife, Ester.
Raymond will be remembered for his charismatic personality, adventurous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have the privilege of knowing him.
