Wellington vs. El Dorado basketball roundup…

Boys

Wellington head coach Joe Newman celebrated his 100th win with an overwhelming domination of El Dorado.

This game was never close. Wellington opened with a 26-12 first quarter lead and was up 47-24 at the half. The Crusaders added to their lead in the third with a 16-8 output and went into the final quarter with a running clock.

Carter Burnett led all scorers with 32 points. Brody Weir followed with 11.

Wellington shot an impressive 52.8 percent from the field and was 26-of-39 from the two-point zone. Three-point shooting was a little more off going 2 of 14 for the night.

Girls

The Wellington girls finished their season at 19-1. El Dorado showed remarkable improvement from the first game played with Wellington.

Scoring for Wellington were Kirstyn Gregory 15, Val Norwood 12, Britt Zeka 12, Ella Goodrum 8, Dru Zeka 5, Lyndi Barton 4, Vivienne Wright 4, Kylan Gregory 2, Cruz Cornejo 1.
