Renee Price, 67, formerly of Wellington: April 19, 1956 – Nov. 16, 2023

Renee Price

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renee Price, a creative soul and adventurous spirit, who departed this world on November 16, 2023. Born in Wellington on April 19, 1956, Renee’s enthusiasm for life, coupled with her artistic flair and love for adventure, made her a joy to be around.

Renee graduated from Wellington High School in 1974 and briefly worked at the local trailer factory before enjoying a successful career at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. However, her true passion lay in her hobbies. She and her husband were avid trail riders and often explored the countryside with their friends atop their mules.

Renee was also a gifted artist. She found joy in folk art painting, transforming ordinary objects like wood and feathers into extraordinary pieces of art. Renee’s creations, most notably her intricately crafted Santas and unique jewelry, were cherished by those lucky enough to own them.

In recent years, Renee moved to Parma, Idaho, where she quickly found a supportive community of friends. Their steadfast companionship during her battle with cancer was a testament to the friendships she so effortlessly cultivated. Renee’s life was woven from shared adventures, laughter, and an unending capacity for love. Her absence has left her family heartbroken, but her memory endures in those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Elkins.

Survivors include her husband, Rob Price; son, Eric Price, and wife, Brittany; daughter, Tammy Thompson; and husband Arcine, along with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her mother, Almetta Iverson; brother, Gregg Elkins and wife, Susan; sister, Tammy O’Neal; numerous nieces and nephews; and her aunt, Dessie Scott and husband, Randy along with many other family members.

A celebration of Renee’s life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington. Guests are invited to come and go, share memories, and enjoy a video celebrating her life. Following cremation, she will be spread in the countryside and mountains that she loved dearly.

Memorial contributions can be given in her name to the Wellington Humane Society, PO Box 494, Wellington 67152 or left with the organization of your choice. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
