Rolando Sauceda, 63, of Wellington died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Via Christi St. Frances Hospital in Wichita.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 at Spiritual House of God in Riverdale, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington with the family present from 5 until 7 p.m.
Interment will be the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington. A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are with Shelley Family Funeral Home of Wellington. For further information please visit www.shelleyfamilyfh.com.
Rolando Sauceda was born January 28, 1953, the son of Alfredo and Ofelia (Alverez) in Mercedes, TX. He graduated from Mercedes High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Micro Biology from the University of Texas. Rolando was united in marriage to Anita Padilla on June 7, 1975.  Rolando was a chemist for the City of Dallas and microbiologist for St. Francis hospital in Wichita for many years. He owned and operated Morning Star Sprinkler Systems, doing residential and commercial irrigation since 1985.Rolando wasn’t afraid to break a sweat and get his hands dirty. His work ethic was truly an inspiration to everyone he encountered and the many young men he employed.
Rolando was “Mr. Fix-itâ€. He could do anything from repairing vehicles and machinery to building his and Anita’s dream home. He loved science and history and was a walking encyclopedia.
Nothing was more important to Rolando than his family. He was a dedicated husband and a rock to his children. However, the greatest source of joy came from his grandchildren.
He was a Godly and praying man who walked out his faith daily. He attended the Spiritual House of God in Riverdale, KS. He enjoyed being an elder, loved the church and loved his pastor.
Rolando is survived by his loving wife, Anita of the home; children: Jaime Sauceda and his wife Tisha of Derby, KS, Stephen Sauceda and his wife Halie of Wichita and Sarah Johnston and her husband Caleb of Wellington; grandchildren: Tessa Sauceda, Lucca Sauceda, Brenden Sauceda and Leyton Sauceda; siblings: Margaret Alfore, Gloria Reynold, Albert Sauceda, Anita Haeri, Aurora Hynes, Ruben Sauceda, Eloy Sauceda, Olga Williams and Rodolfo Sauceda.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
