The Wellington Humane Society Pet of the Week is Roxanne.

Roxanne came to the shelter from a bad situation at just 31 pounds and approximately a year old. She is now up to 50 pounds and doing great! Roxanne is a super sweet Doberman that gets along with everyone she meets! She is currently at a foster home with a 6 and 8-year-old and does really well.

She does well with children but is still a large dog, so she is a knock-over hazard for toddlers. Two large dogs in her foster home are teaching her the ropes, and she is eager to learn…especially when treats are involved! She has been introduced to cats and will chase them if they run, but she will also play with them if they aren’t scared of her. She is learning basic commands and how to leash and walk, and she is doing great! Roxanne is a cuddle bug! She’ll cuddle with people or dogs! If you’re sitting, she’s there! She would do well in a home with room to run, other large dogs, and lots of snuggle time.
