Roy Wendell Kabureck, 69, Wellington: April 25, 1956 – April 18, 2026
Roy Wendell Kabureck, a dedicated and generous soul, passed away on April 18, 2026, just a week shy of his 70th birthday. He was born in Wellington on April 25, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of the city he loved. Roy was known for his smart wit and funny jokes that could light up any room. He was a respected figure in the community, serving the City of Wellington for over 35 years, most of his career as a dedicated Park Department Supervisor. His love for his community was only surpassed by his love for his family, who mattered most to him.
Roy served in the U.S. Marines for two years during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, for the duration of his service. His kids fondly remember the stories he would tell about his time spent there. Roy loved gardening, spending time with his grandkids, bowling, and being a lifelong Raiders fan. Anyone who knew him knew that his love for life was infectious, and he will be deeply missed.
Roy is survived by his son, Josh Kabureck, and daughter, Kimberly Kabureck. He was a cherished brother to Floyd Kabureck, Terry Sizemore, Evelyn Rose, Kathy Teague, and Penny Watts. He was a proud grandfather to Keenan Carlson, Macye Elkins, Deija Kabureck, and Kaylei Kabureck, who will forever cherish the memories of their fun-loving grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Billie Kabureck, and his sister, Lorie Riggs.
