Sandra “Sandy” Joan Meridith died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Homestead Assisted Living of Wellington at the age of 83.

She was born the daughter of Frank and Lorene (Sayers) Adams in Wellington on August 9, 1939. She was raised in Argonia, where she attended school.

On February 23, 1957, Sandra Adams and Bob Meridith were united in marriage in Argonia. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.

Sandy spent many years working on title preparations. She began her career in a title office in the early 1970s, finally retiring in the late 1990s. Her hobbies would include playing the piano, singing, garage sale-ing, and her favorite- collecting antiques.

Although she absolutely hated to cook, she could make some of the best-fried chicken. Sandy was a loving mother, her children, and grandchildren were her everything. She made sure to attend all of their programs. Sandy enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas, with all her kids. She will be greatly missed.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Meridith of Wellington; daughter, Laura Anderson and her husband Nathan of Halstead; son, Brian Meridith and Sandy of Wellington; grandchildren: Brendan Auzat, Jenna Auzat (Mason), Dray Meridith (Keelie), Brittin Downing (Devin), Elizabeth Meridith (Nathan), Tia Meridith, Kalin Meridith (Stormy), Ashtyn Wells (Scott), Adam Condit (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren: Kolbie, Briggs, Grey, Rilee, Lennon, and one on the way.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you send a donation in loving memory of Sandy to assist with expenses. Contributions may be made online, mailed, or left with the funeral home.
