By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Cruz Cornejo and Logan Robinson become this school year’s Big Cheese Athletes of the Week.
The two sophomores won the Wellington Invitational Tuesday afternoon in the searing 90-plus degree heat for the Crusader tennis team.
They would dominate Valerie Weninger and Norah Youngers of Kingman 8-0, and beat second-place finishers Cylia LaTourell and Emily McGaughey of Sterling 8-3 before beating Innslee Albright and Kabrie Chance of Chaparral 8-2.
The duo receives a large, delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington in Wellington for their effort.
