Sixth annual Wellington Fall Fest 5K/1 mile run to be held this Saturday
Sumner Newscow report — The sixth annual Wellington Fall Fest 5K/one mile run will be held Saturday, Oct. 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. with proceeds going towards benefitting muscular dystrophy.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Alison Rusk State Farm Insurance, located at 116 W. Lincoln, Wellington. Parking is available at the corner of Lincoln and Jefferson. Restrooms are located in the State Farm building.
Medals will be given to the top three males and females of each race in each age group: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus.
No one will be allowed to cross the finish line without a BIB number.
A group of five women started the Fall Fest run after deciding to train for a half marathon over six years ago. They thought there was no better way to share their excitement for running than creating a race with a special cause.
