by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Friday night football in Sumner County will feature intriguing contests for Caldwell and South Haven. Argonia-Attica continue to be Sumner County’s most successful football team…

Argonia-Attica (3-0) at Pratt Skyline (0-3)

How dominating is Argonia-Attica? In the first three weeks the Titans have outscored their opponents 174-32.

Could be more of the same. Pratt Skyline is 0-3 losing to Pretty Prairie 50-0 last weekend. A&A is currently No. 2 in the latest 8-man Division II state polls – a position it has been in for sometime.

Central Burden (2-1) at South Haven (2-1)

South Haven is playing better football, matching last year’s win total. This one should be an interesting test as the Raiders come into the with an identical record. Central-Burden beat Caldwell in the season opener 66-42. \\Sumner Newscow will have a reporter there for the game.

Cedar Vale Dexter (1-2)  at Caldwell (1-2)

The Bluejays are 1-2 in a strange way, winning against preseason favorite Udall, but losing to Central-Burden and West Elk. This could be an interesting contest as the Spartans lost to South Haven last week 60-52.

Flinthills (0-3) at Oxford (0-3)

Oxford has not had a good season thus far, but could get into the victory column tonight. Flinthills has had a miserable season thus far getting outscored 144-12.

Conway Springs (2-1) at Douglass (0-3)

Conway Springs was dominated offensively last week 317 to 173 yards in its first loss of the season including 143 yards rushing. The Bulldogs have struggled mightily including a 44-6 loss to Medicine Lodge last week. When was the last time Conway Springs lost to Douglass. Maybe not in this lifetime.

Wichita Trinity (2-1) at Belle Plaine (0-3)

The Dragons will someday break their losing streak. Probably won’t happen this week.
