by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Hoxie Indians girls basketball team made it 46 in a row. Unfortunately, it came at the expense of the South Haven Lady Cardinals.

Hoxie kept rolling along with its annihilation tour. This game was 81-36. If you look at Hoxie’s schedule, this is a typical game for the defending state champions.

Using pressure defense and hot field goal shooting from the three-point arc, Hoxie took a 21-5 lead and expanded it to 42-17 advantage at the half. The Indians would outscore the Cardinals 22-9 and 17-10 in the third and fourth quarter respectively.

South Haven was a cold 10 of 48 in field goal shooting.

Five South Haven seniors end their career: Ashton Barlow, Whitney Turek,  Launa White, Hayley Parks, Karlea Tanner.

Team ends season at 16-8 and as SCBL Tournament champions, co-champs of SCBL, Class 1A Sub-State Champions and state 1A D1 qualifiers.
