Sumner Newscow report — David Moreland of Medford, a 2018 South Haven High School graduate, recently received the 2018 National FFA Scholarship sponsored by Rabo AgriFinance, a financial solutions provider for leading U.S. agricultural producers and agribusinesses.

“We are grateful to be given the opportunity to support future ag leaders such as David,” says Van Dewey, general manager with Rabo AgriFinance. “Rabo AgriFinance has optimism for U.S. agriculture in the long term. An important part of that positive outlook is the talented, young individuals who are passionate for the industry’s success.”

David is the son of Matt and Lisa Moreland. The $2,000 National FFA Scholarship will go toward tuition at Oklahoma State University, where he plans to study agriculture power and equipment.

To receive the scholarship, Moreland needed to possess standout qualities: have at least a 3.0 GPA, rank in the top half of his graduating class, be a FFA member and exhibit strong leadership skills.

Moreland was co-Valedictorian of the South Haven senior class this year.
