Road Work ahead try this again!!!!Submitted to Sumner Newscow — Starting the week of June 27, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin the preservation project on the bridge carrying US-81 Highway over Fall Creek Drainage in Sumner County, located .24 miles east of US-81/K-49 Junction, on US-81 just east of Caldwell.

Traffic will be carried through the work zone while construction takes place. The traffic will be shifted to one side where the bridge will be repaired on the eastbound lane, after which the traffic will be switched and repairs will proceed on the westbound lane of US-81. Please slow down through the work zone and be aware of the traffic signal. Drivers can expect delays of less than 15 minutes due to construction.

All loads over 13-foot of total width should seek alternative routes. This preservation project is scheduled to be completed in January 2017, depending on delays caused by adverse weather conditions.
