Once again, severe weather is just around the corner, and with the change of the season comes our annual notice for citizens to help with their severe weather awareness safety.
The National Weather Service has designated March 6 – 10, 2023, as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas… a back-up date has not been set.
Here in Sumner County, we will have our annual Severe Weather Spotter Presentation on Wednesday, February 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wellington High School Auditorium. The general public is always invited to come and see an outstanding presentation on how to recognize severe weather and learn what to do, so that we can better protect ourselves from serious harm.
This cover letter includes two different public service announcements intended as awareness handouts/billboards for your communities/business/school.
Suppose you have not had the opportunity to attend this presentation. In that case, we highly recommend you come out and see how informative and entertaining the National Weather Service has made this show.
