Sumner County Commissioner meeting report: Dec. 30 – Dec. 31, 2019

Sumner Newscow report — The Sumner County Commissioners meeting report Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, 2019, is as follows:

December 30, 2019, 9 a.m.

The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session in the Commission Room of the Sumner County Courthouse.  Those present were Chairman Jim D. Newell, Commissioner Steve Warner and Commissioner John Cooney.  Also present were County Clerk Debra A. Norris, 80th House Representative Bill Rhiley and Whitney Feltrop, Image Quest.

The Commission reviewed and unanimously approved the minutes of December 23 and 24. 

Information Technology Director Joe Buresh presented three copier bids for county offices from current vendor RK Black, Image Quest and Galaxy Business.  Also present was Ms. Feltrop and County Counselor Jack Potucek.   Director Buresh advised the project originated with the replacement of a smaller number of machines, but due to the length of the project, the entire fleet of devices was quoted.  The project consists of two components – the replacement equipment and the maintenance contract. The Commission reviewed and discussed the bids presented.  The Commission will review, in detail, the information provided.

Counselor Potucek provided general reviews and updates.

•At 10:39 a.m., upon unanimous vote, the Commission entered into executive session for 10 minutes with Counselor Potucek for an attorney/client privileged matter.  IT Director Buresh and Deputy County Clerk Diana Aufdengarten were also present.   At 10:49 a.m., the executive session was extended for an additional 10 minutes with the same parties present.  At 10:58 a.m., the Commission reconvened in open session.  No binding action was taken as a result of the executive session.

•At 10:59 a.m., upon unanimous vote, the Commission entered into executive session for 15 minutes with Counselor Potucek for an attorney/client privileged matter.  At 11:11 a.m., the Commission reconvened in open session.  No binding action was taken as a result of the executive session.

•There being no further business, the Board of County Commissioners adjourned at 11:12 a.m.

December 31, 2019, 9 a.m.

The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session in the Commission room of the Sumner County Courthouse.  Those present were Chairman Jim D. Newell, Commissioner Steve Warner and Commissioner John Cooney.  Also present was County Clerk Debra A. Norris.

Information Technology Director Joe Buresh discussed the three (3) copier bids for county offices presented in the meeting yesterday.  County Counselor Jack Potucek was also present.  Director Buresh again advised the project originated with the replacement of a smaller number of machines, but due to the length of the project, the entire fleet of devices was quoted.  The project consists of two components – the replacement equipment and the maintenance contract.  After discussion, the Commission authorized Director Buresh to proceed with Galaxy Business Equipment, for the 60-month lease of copiers for the county offices.

Counselor Potucek provided general reviews and updates.

County Appraiser Cindy Magill discussed departmental issues with the Commission.  Counselor Potucek was also present.

At 10:07 a.m., upon unanimous vote, the Commission entered into executive session for 25 minutes with Counselor Potucek for an attorney/client privileged matter.  Clerk Norris and Appraiser Magill were asked to remain in the meeting.  At 10:32 a.m., the Commission reconvened in open session.  No binding action was taken as a result of the executive session.

At 10:38 a.m., upon unanimous vote, the Commission entered into executive session for 10 minutes with Counselor Potucek for an attorney/client privileged matter.  Clerk Norris was asked to remain in the meeting.  At 10:46 a.m., the Commission reconvened in open session.  No binding action was taken as a result of the executive session.

There being no further business, the Board of County Commissioners adjourned at 10:48 a.m.
