Sumner County Court Docket: April 7, 2016 report

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. Dylan Bain-Kop — Case No: 16 CR 68.
Date of birth: 1996 Address: Wellington.
Date of alleged crime: February 26, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2 — Endangering a child, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 3 — Criminal deprivation of motor vehicle, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Bain-Kop is accused of during an argument, angrily punching his girlfriend and putting her in a chokehold. He also allegedly while she was holding her baby, angrily pushed her causing her to fall down on the bed. She got up, and he allegedly threw her back down on the bed while she was still holding the baby. He then is accused of taking the girlfriend’s car and leaving the premises even though she told him he could not take it.

State of Kansas v. Vance Lough — Case No: 16 CR 70.
Date of birth: 1965 Address: Wellington.
Date of alleged crime: March 9, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Violation of Kansas Offender Registration Act, Level 6 felony.
Case description: Lough is accused of violating his court agreement in which he is to report to the Sheriff every three months and also to notify him three days of any chang of address. On Feb. 18, 2016, a Sheriff deputy tried to verify his residence at the Siesta Motel, but the manager allegedly said he had moved out in January, 2016. He also allegedly missed a court date.

State of Kansas v. Kameron Jurey — Case No: 16 CR 71.
Date of birth: 1996 Address: Geuda Springs.
Date of alleged crime: Feb. 28, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Assault, Class C misdemeanor.
Count 2 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.Â
Case description: Jurey is accused of rapidly approaching his father in an angry manner during an argument over him not doing his chores. Allegedly, when the father walked away to defuse the situation, Jurey acted as if he was going to hit him. He then allegedly grabbed his father by the throat or shirt collar after being pushed away. He then allegedly angrily wrestled with the father which alarmed a third person, who tried to restrain Jurey until he was no longer so mad.

State of Kansas v. Stephanie Hart — Case No: 16 CR 72.
Date of birth: 1974. Address: Wichita.
Date of alleged crime: March 6, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 2 — Vehicle burglary, level 9 felony.
Count 3 — Vehicle burglary, level 9 felony.
Count 4 — Theft, level 9 felony.
Case description: Hart is accused at about 5:48 p.m. while inside the Kansas Star Casino taking someone else’s keys which was dropped onto the Casino floor and leaving. Hart is then accused of entering the vehicle twice to commit a felony and eventually found the woman’s purse which included cash and credit cards. She also got cash and credit cards from two other purses that had a value of about $1,723 all together.

State of Kansas v. Nakia Hearlson — Case No: 16 CR 73.

Date of alleged crime: March 8, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Aggravated assault with firearm, level 7 felony.
Count 2 — Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Hearlson is accused of pointing a handgun at another person during an argument. He allegedly angrily pushed the gun into the woman’s side causing intense pain due to her recent operation.

State of Kansas v. Wesley Cousins — Case No: 16 CR 74.

Date of alleged crime: March 6, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 2 — Vehicle burglary, level 9 felony.
Count 3 — Vehicle burglary, level 9 felony.
Count 4 — Theft, level 9 felony.
Case description: Cousins is accused at the Kansas Star Casino at about 5:48 p.m. of taking someone else’s keys which was dropped onto the Casino floor and leaving. Count 2 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 drug felony.
Count 3 — Possession of marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 4 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 5 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Deffenbaugh is accused of stealing a power washer, portable lock boxes and a personal computer monitor from JumpStart Conoco at 1106 North A. Street in Wellington. After being apprehended, he allegedly had in his possession: methamphetamine, marijuana and a smoking pipe.

State of Kansas v. Christopher Gennett — Case No: 16 CR 76.
Date of birth: 1971. Address: Wichita.
Date of alleged crime: March 13, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Aggravated Battery, level 7 felony.
Count 2 — Aggravated Assault, level 7 felony.
Count 3 — Criminal Damage to Property, level 7 felony.
Count 4 — Criminal littering, unclassified misdemeanor.
Count 5 — Reckless driving, unclassified misdemeanor.
Case description: Gennett is accused of using a White 2013 Ford F-150 pickup as a deadly weapon where great bodily harm, disfigurement or death could have been inflicted. He allegedly used the pickup to place another person with immediately harm. He also allegedly caused damage to a 2006 Dodge 1500 pickup. He then is accused of depositing tree branches and tree logs unto Ridge Road in Sumner County without permission from a public officer.

State of Kansas v. Andy Joe Andrews — Case No: 16 CR 77.

Date of alleged crime: March 5, 2016.
Charges:
Count 1 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.
Count 3 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 4 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 5 — Possession Controlled Substance (depressant), level 5 drug felony.
Case description: Andrews is accused of not leaving the Kansas Star Casino parking lot after being told to do so due to his intoxication and profanity. He is accused of using fighting words, intentionally striking another person with cigarette ash, physically resisting arrest and being escorted to a holding cell. He also allegedly had several Alprazolam in his pocket in a container that was other than a prescription drug container.

State of Kansas v. Nicole Shay Hargis — Case No: 16 CR 78.

Date of alleged crime: May 18, 2015.
Charges:
Count 1 — Possession Methamphetamine, Level 5 drug felony.
Count 2 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Hargis is accused of having methamphetamine in a spoon on a chair inside her residence as well as residue in a coin sized baggy. She also allegedly had a loaded syringe in a glass smoking pipe in the garage. She also allegedly had a spoon, plastic baggies inside a Juicy Fruit container, and a coin sized baggy on a chair in the residence.
