These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas vs. Rachelle Dawn Heath

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-295. Year of Birth: 1955.

Address: Goddard. Date of the alleged crime: June 14, 2024.

1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

3 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 felony.

Description: Heath is accused of possessing a small amount of marijuana and .14 grams of methamphetamine. She also had pill bottles, a glass pipe, a mirror, plastic containers with residue, a homemade pipe, and a marijuana grinder.

State of Kansas vs. Kendra Dawn Buen

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-296. Year of Birth: 1976.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 4, 2024.

1 — Driving under the influence, level 6 felony.

2 — Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Buen is accused of having a blood alcohol level of .107 while operating a vehicle. She also allegedly possessed a small amount of marijuana in the form of a THC vape pen.

State of Kansas vs. Jeffrey Todd Leggett

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-297. Year of Birth: 1969.

Address: Oxford. Date of the alleged crime: Sept. 9, 2024.

1 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Leggett is accused of being at the Oxford Casey’s in violation of an order prohibiting him from doing so.

State of Kansas vs. Jeremy Wayne Davis

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-298. Year of Birth: 1986.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Oct. 30, 2024.

1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Davis is accused of stealing a gas-powered backpack leaf blower from Dustin Craig.

State of Kansas vs. Damon Errol Root

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-299. Year of Birth: 1976. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 14, 2024.

1 — Aggravated Arson, level 6 felony.

Description: Root is accused of at the 314 E. 17th St. entering a crawl space below his apartment and lighting a fire in a metal fire pit, causing $2,000 in damage to the apartment. According to the complaint, at least six other tenants were home at the complex at the time of the fire. It was contained before it could be of risk to anyone.

State of Kansas vs. D’Angelo Murdock

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-300. Year of Birth: 2001.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: Oct. 31, 2024.

1 — Driving while suspended (second or subsequent), Class A misdemeanor.

2 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Speeding, traffic infraction.

Description: Murdock is accused of driving with a suspended license after speeding 97 in a 75 mph zone. He then allegedly identified himself as Damozeo Mudock when his game was D’Angelo Murdock.

State of Kansas vs. Zachary Travis Brown

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-301. Year of Birth: 1989.

Address: Katy, Texas. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 9, 2024.

1 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Brown is accused of causing significant damage to a 2006 Transcraft flatbed trailer he was pulling. He allegedly cut brake lines and other electrical cables, causing about $500 in damages.

State of Kansas vs. Ashley Kelley

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000302. Year of Birth: 1987.

Address: Dallas, Texas. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 21, 2024.

1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Speeding infraction.

Description: Kelley is accused, during a traffic stop, of possessing a marijuana grinder after driving 100 miles per hour in a 75 mph zone with no valid driver’s license.

State of Kansas vs. Joe Roland Wolverton

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-303. Year of Birth: 1989.

Address: Caldwell. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 22, 2024.

1 — Theft of a firearm, level 9 felony.

2 — Defacing identification marks on a firearm, level 10 felony.

Description: Wolverton is accused of taking a Glock 19 handgun from a victim and partially removing the serial number.

State of Kansas vs. Rachelle Lea Ward

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-304. Year of Birth: 1969.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 23, 2024.

1 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Ward is accused of getting into an altercation with the victim and chest-bumping her in an insulting manner.

State of Kansas vs. George Thomas, Jr.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-305. Year of Birth: 1977.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 24, 2024.

1 — Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

3 — Driving while suspended, canceled or revoked, Class A misdemeanor.

4 — Possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin), Class A misdemeanor.

5 — Speeding, infraction.

Description: Thomas, Jr. is accused of possessing psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. He also allegedly had drug paraphernalia after being caught speeding 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. Thomas also has been convicted of driving with a suspended license eight different times.

State of Kansas vs. Robin Renea Hoffer

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-306. Year of Birth: 1965.

Address: Sharon. Date of the alleged crime: August 2, 2024.

1 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 felony.

2 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Hoffer is accused of possessing a small amount of methamphetamine in a glasses case and a plastic bag.

State of Kansas vs. Ty Van Bui

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-307. Year of Birth: 1970.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: Nov. 7, 2024.

1 — Vehicular burglary, level 9 felony.

2 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: But is accused of entering a vehicle parked at the Kansas Star Casino and taking $140 in cash.

State of Kansas vs. Braxton James Cooley

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-308. Year of Birth: 1996.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Dec. 8, 2024.

1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Interference with law enforcement (obstruction), Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Battery on a county correctional officer, level 5 felony.

Description: Cooley is accused of possessing a marijuana pipe and a stolen bike. During the booking, Cooley is accused of refusing to cooperate with law enforcement and actively fighting with them. As a result of the conflict, according to the complaint, one deputy suffered an injury to his left elbow, and the other received abrasions to his arm because of the conflict.

State of Kansas vs. Christina Humphries

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-309. Year of Birth: 1990. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Dec. 3, 2024.

1 — Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Humphries is accused of possessing a small amount of marijuana after being investigated for potentially injecting herself with a syringe while at the Wellington McDonald’s. She also allegedly had drug paraphernalia, including baggies with residue, syringes, and a bent spoon with residue.

State of Kansas vs. William Wesley Ballard

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-310. Year of Birth: 1971.

Address: Conway Springs. Date of the alleged crime: Dec. 15, 2024.

1 — Aggravated battery (reckless), level 8 felony.

Description: Ballard is accused during an argument of shoving a victim onto a table, causing the chair to break. According to the complaint, the victim recently had a heart transplant, went into cardiac arrest, and was taken to the hospital.

State of Kansas vs. Tara Ann Vestey-Borden

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-311. Year of Birth: 1982.

Address: Tulsa, Oklahoma. Date of the alleged crime: Oct. 30, 2024.

1 — Driving under the influence, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Transporting an open container, unclassified misdemeanor.

3 — No proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

4 — Leaving the scene of an accident, Class C misdemeanor.

5 — Possession of marijuana for use, Class B misdemeanor.

6 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Borden is accused of driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .13 on the Kansas Turnpike when getting involved in a vehicle accident. She also allegedly had a tumbler of vodka in her cup, no insurance, possessing a small amount of marijuana, and a cooler full of pill bottles to store the THC in her car.

She drove 1.5 miles after the accident and stopped when the car could no longer go forward, allegedly.

State of Kansas vs. Madison Woodward

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-312. Year of Birth: 2000.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: Dec. 12, 2024.

1 — Aggravated burglary of a residence, level 4 felony.

2 — Theft, level 9 felony.

3 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Woodward is accused of entering a residence at 209 E. Kansas in Wellington to take keys to a vehicle not belonging to her. At the same time, the couple was present in the residence. The defendant then allegedly took the 2012 Jeep Liberty and, while leaving, struck a barbecue grill and the pillar to the porch.

State of Kansas vs. Adia Chanelle Johns

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-313. Year of Birth: 1999. 

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: 1999.

1 — Forgery, level 8 felony.

Description: Johns is accused of distributing a fraudulent driver’s license and an altered check to the bank teller at Security State Bank in Wellington.
