These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. James Beltz — Case No: 16 CR 154.

Date of alleged crime: May 4, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Domestic Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description: Beltz is accused of spitting in the face of his grandmother in a rude manner.

State of Kansas v. Lattrell Thompson — Case No: 16 CR 155.

Date of alleged crime: May 11, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Harassment by telecommunication device. Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Thompson is accused of making phone calls with the intent to harass a couple after being told to stop. Lattrell is accused of of calling the couple seven times on May 2, one time on May 3, five times on May 9, six times on May 10, and 16 times on May 11. The defendant is accused of calling three more times with a sheriff deputy present, who answered the phone the final time.

Case description: Molter is accused of possessing both marijuana and paraphernalia in a vehicle.

Count 1 — Criminal restraint, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description: Ingram is accused of restraining another person from leaving her bedroom by grabbing her and pulling her back into the room. He then allegedly grabbed and threw a phone at her, leaving a bruise on her left shoulder. The woman showed the police officer several bruises and scrapes and stated she could barely move her upper body because she was so sore.

State of Kansas v. Justin Michael Brown — Case No: 16 CR 158.

Charges:

Count 1 — Making false information, level 8 felony.

Count 2 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Making false information, level 8 felony.

Count 4 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Brown is accused on April 13 of cashing a $650 check at Impact Bank with knowledge that the check was fraudulent and came from a bank account in Ponca City that had been closed for more than eight years. Then on April 18, Brown allegedly wrote a check for $521.36 from the same outdated account. In both cases, Brown allegedly perpetrated that he had worked for the man in Ponca City when in reality the two had never met.

Case description: Kimzey is accused of entering a 2002 white Chevy Truck without the person’s permission and taking a Pioneer radio/CD player valued at $180.

Date of alleged crime: May 5, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Fleming is accused of taking several items of merchandise from Casey’s General Store West in Wellington. He allegedly took four car-buds, anti scan wallet, flashlight, battery pack, and sunglasses. Fleming allegedly hid the items inside his clothes while exiting Casey’s without paying for merchandise.

State of Kansas v. Donald Schwab III— Case No: 16 CR 161

Date of alleged crime: May 24, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Possession marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Schwab is accused of having marijuana inside a metal grinder in the car for which he was a passenger.

State of Kansas v. Bruce Pennington, Jr. — Case No: 16 CR 162

Count 1 — Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

Count 3 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Pennington is accused of making physical contact with his girlfriend in a rude and angry manner. He then is accused of threatening to kill her. He, allegedly, also took her Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone.

State of Kansas v. John McEachern — Case No: 16 CR 163.

Date of alleged crime: Nov. 12, 2014.

Charges:

Count 1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: McEachern is accused of possessing a glass pipe with burnt residue and an odor consistent with marijuana and a red grinder with remnants of marijuana.

State of Kansas v. Joshua Kercher — Case No: 16 CR 164.

Date of alleged crime: May 30, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, level 8 felony.

Count 2 — Domestic battery, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Kercher is accused of possessing a .45 caliber pistol after having been convicted of a felony in Sedgwick County. The defendant also pushed his wife off the bed in a rude and angry manner causing her to hit her face and right eye on the nightstand to the north of the bed and causing a visible injury.

Charges:

Count 1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Failure to stop at stop sign, traffic infraction.

Case description: After being accused of driving a Chevrolet Avalanche past a stop sign, Gross is accused of possessing a white deer antler pipe with resin on the bowl that had a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the pipe found in the center console and a metal brass pipe found near the dashboard, under the radio faceplate.

State of Kansas v. Luis Lucero — Case No: 16 CR 166.

Date of alleged crime: June 12, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Driving while suspended, second offense, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Theft, level 9 felony.

Case description: Lucero is accused of driving a 2011 Lexus while his driver’s license was suspended. He allegedly stole the vehicle at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club on June 11 at about 7:55 p.m., drove the car on the turnpike from 8:22 to 8:26 p.m. and then proceeded north where he was apprehended at milepost 23 at 4:27 a.m.

State of Kansas v. Jason Assen Lowry — Case No: 16 CR 167.

Charges:

Count 1 — Defective tail lamp, traffic infraction.

Count 2 — Possession marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Lowry is accused of having a broken lamp lens on the rear of a vehicle when he was stopped. It was then allegedly discovered he had two rolled marijuana cigarettes inside a cigarette holder and loose marijuana inside the center console of the vehicle. He also allegedly had rolling paper and two marijuana pipes in the glove compartment.

Date of alleged crime: May 24, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Bichon is accused of taking a pocket knife and two key chains from EZ Go Store, Inc.

State of Kansas v. Dale Church — Case No: 16 CR 170.

Date of alleged crime: March 4, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Assault, Class C misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal threat, Level 9 felony.

Count 3 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Disorderly Conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Case description: Church is accused of causing a disturbance when he was at Pig Shack Barbecue. When he was told by the owner to leave, Church allegedly made a fist and reared back as if to strike him. He then allegedly threatened to go get his gun and shoot the owner. He was also allegedly intoxicated and was harassing other customers.

State of Kansas v. Kiera Marie Dear — Case No: 16 CR 171.

Date of alleged crime: June 16, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Possession of cocaine, level 5 drug felony.

Count 2 — Possession of marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Unlawful use of driver’s license: displaying a license not issued to that person.

Case description: Dear is accused of concealing cocaine inside a white piece of plastic located inside the passenger side door compartment of a silver Chevy Aveo. Dear also allegedly had marijuana inside a clear plastic bag and a long brown cigar. She also displayed a driver’s license to security at the Kansas Star Casino belonging to someone else.

State of Kansas v. Michael Willman— Case No: 16 CR 172.

Date of alleged crime: June 4, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Possession Marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession Marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Willman is accused of having marijuana inside a pill bottle inside the vehicle he was driving at the 1-25 exit at the Kansas Star Casino. He also allegedly had a marijuana pipe and marijuana hidden in his shoe.

State of Kansas v. Andrew Mathews — Case No: 16 CR 173.

Date of birth: 1989. Address: Mulvane.

Date of alleged crime: June 21, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

Count 2 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description: Mathews is accused of threatening a household member that he was going to burn down the house and slash the tires of her vehicle, if she didn’t fix the internet connection to the house. He is also accused of pouring out about a 12-pack of the woman’s beer that was in the refrigerator which cost about $10.

State of Kansas v. Jeremy Cabrera — Case No: 16 CR 174.

Date of birth: 1992. Address: Wellington.

Date of alleged crime: April 12, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Burglary of non-dwelling, level 7 felony.

Count 2 — Theft, level 9 felony.

Count 3 — Burglary of a vehicle, level 9 felony

Count 4 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 5 — Burlary of dwelling, level 7 felony.

Count 6 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Cabrera is accused of entering through a window and stealing a camera and several computers at the Theurer’s Auction Realty Building at 1101 E. 16th in Wellington

He allegedly took $4,746, but with an insurance claim of $1,989.91.

Also, on May 19, 2016, he allegedly broke into a Chevrolet Tahoe parked at 812 E. 8th in Wellington and stole two Garmin GPS devices out of the vehicle.

On May 14, 2016, Cabrera is accused of breaking into the resident at 1007 S. Jefferson occupied by Christopher Asbury. He allegedly took a sentry lock box, a vehicle title and $5 in coins and a trailer parked in the back yard.

State of Kansas v. Patrick Davis — Case No: 16 CR 175.

Date of alleged crime: June 11, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Driving while license is canceled, revoked or suspended, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Traffic in contraband in correctional institution, level 6 felony.

Count 3 — Possession of marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description: Davis is accused of driving a motor vehicle while his license was suspended. He had a prior Sedgwick County District Court conviction on Feb. 11, 2013. He then allegedly was attempting to take a baggy of marijuana in his shorts into the jail when he was arrested for driving while suspended.

State of Kansas v. William Holt — Case No: 16 CR 177.

Date of birth: 1983. Address: Wichita.

Date of alleged crime: June 21, 2016.

Charges:

Count 1 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description: Holt is accused of angrily striking another vehicle with his car door at least twice. During an argument, Holt also angrily pushed another person.
