Sumner County Court Docket: June 24, 2014 report
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The following are a list of criminal court complaints recently filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office.
These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Michael Andra, born in 1955, of Wichita was charged with robbery, a level 5 person felony or felony theft, a level 9 felony.
Andra is accused of taking a laptop computer from another person. He allegedly was arguing with an insurance adjustor over a claim, and he stood up suddenly and threatened bodily harm. Andra then allegedly took the computer and refused to return it and left in his vehicle. The computer was valued at $1,000 but less than $25,000.
The case has been continued to August 21 at 1:30 p.m.

Ernest Heard, Jr., born in 1984, of Wichita was charged with trafficking of contraband in a correctional institution, a level 6 felony.
Heard is accused on May 18, 2014 of reporting to Sumner County jail to serve jail time and after being shown a poster prohibiting unauthorized possession of certain items in the facility including tobacco, he stated he had no contraband on him. After he dressed out a deputy found a tobacco cigarette in a plastic bag hidden between his leg and scrotum.

Rebecca Livingston, born in 1973, of Wellington was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Livingston is accused of having a small quantity of methamphetamine in a pipe on her when she was arrested on June 14.
The penalty carries a mandatory 90 days in jail and maximum one year sentence and $2,500 fine.

Jerry Laster of Grandbury, Texas was charged with driving under the influence his fourth conviction in a lifetime.
On June 8, Laster allegedly had a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more after he was said to be driving on the left half of the roadway for no apparent reason.

Bradley Gaines, born in 1965, of Wichita was charged with battery, a Class B misdemeanor.
Gaines allegedly on June 1, 2014 angrily pushed and shoved another person.
