Sumner County Court Docket: June 26 report

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The following is a list of criminal court complaints recently filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office.

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas vs. Samuel Roman

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-136. Year of Birth: 1976

Address: Conway Springs. Date of the alleged crime: April 25, 2025

1 — Interference with law enforcement (false report of LEO crime), level 8 felony. 

2 — Interference with law enforcement (false report of LEO crime), level 9 felony. 

Description: Roman is accused of calling the Sumner County Undersheriff and the 911 office to report that three Sheriff deputies had coordinated or conspired with White Star Equipment to steal his property and he was requesting their arrest, even though in reality it never happened. He also allegedly called 911 to report that White Star Equipment was stealing his property, when in fact it belonged to White Star and was being recovered due to a declined business agreement. The property at issue is valued at $105,000.

State of Kansas vs. Tambra Kay Linton

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-137. Year of Birth: 1961. 

Address: Oxford. Date of the alleged crime: March 13, 2025. 

1 — Illegal display of license plate, unclassified misdemeanor. 

2 — Driving while suspended, canceled, or revoked (second), Class A misdemeanor.

3 — No proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

4 —  Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

5 — Driving under the influence of drugs, Class B misdemeanor.

6 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 drug felony.

7 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Linton is accused of acting erratically after being stopped for speeding. According to the complaint, the defendant was then given a blood test that determined she was under the influence of methamphetamines and amphetamines. She then allegedly resisted arrest. After a search, it was determined that Linton possessed about three grams of meth, some bags, a butane tourch, a glass pipe with residue, a spoon and a scale used for a controlled substances. 

She also allegedly had an outdated license plate sticker, no insurance, and was driving on a suspended license.

State of Kansas vs. Tambra Kay Linton

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-138. Year of Birth: 1961. 

Address: Oxford Date of the alleged crime: May 21, 2025.

1 — No proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor. 

2 — Interference with law enforcement (resisting arrest), Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Failure to wear seat belts, an infraction.

4 — Illegal display of a license plate, unclassified misdemeanor.

5 — Driving while suspended, canceled, or revoked (second or subs), Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Linton is accused, two months and eight days after the previous complaint incident, of not having insurance, failing to wear a seat belt, not having the proper display on the license plate, and driving on a suspended license. 

She also allegedly during a traffic stop of requesting to go into a nearby church to use the restroom and then attempting to escape or evade law enforcement by exiting from another door and walking away from the stop.

State of Kansas vs. Mitchell Lee Dwyer

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-139. Year of Birth: 1980. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 25, 2025. 

1 — Violation of protective order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Dwyer is accused of violating a protection order made in a Wellington Municipal Court domestic violence case by texting and driving by the victim’s residence.

State of Kansas vs. Jessie Dewayne French. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-140. Year of Birth: 1977.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 18, 2025. 

1 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 drug felony. 

Description: French is accused of dropping a clear bag containing a quantity of methamphetamine while checking out from an unspecified business.

State of Kansas vs. Bonita Lynn Rush.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-141. Year of Birth: 1974. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 20, 2025. 

1 — Contributing to a child’s misconduct or deprivation, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Rush is accused of lying to a Wellington Police officer to aid a runaway in avoiding detection or apprehension from law enforcement. Allegedly, she told the officer that she did not know the location of her son when it was later determined he was staying at her home the whole time with her knowledge.

State of Kansas vs. Tambra Kay Linton. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-142. Year of Birth: 1961. 

Address: Oxford Date of the alleged crime: June 7, 2025.

1 — Fleeing or attempting to elude, Class B misdemeanor. 

2 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Driving while suspended (second or subs), Class A misdemeanor.

4 — Vehicle registration violation, unclassified misdemeanor.

Description: Linton is accused of failing or refusing to stop her vehicle and continuing to drive to her residence when a deputy behind her had activated emergency equipment. After arriving at her house, she allegedly attempted to run inside despite being told by the police not to. According to the complaint, the Wellington police officer had to physically restrain her from going in. 

Also, she was accused for the third time in less than a month of driving with a suspended license. She also allegedly drove a vehicle with an expired registration.

State of Kansas vs. Seth Dean Brant.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-143. Year of Birth: 1996. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: June 14, 2025. 

1 — Aggravated domestic battery, level 7 felony. 

Description: Brant is accused of during an argument with his common law wife, of grabbing and choking her.

State of Kansas vs. Lonnie Dean Jacobs. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-144. Year of Birth: 1965.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: June 15, 2025. 

1 — Interference with law enforcement, level 9 felony. 

Description: Jacobs is accused of actively resisting arrest after law enforcement executed a felony arrest warrant on an unrelated case.

State of Kansas vs. Ciara Hoy.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-145. Year of Birth: 1990. 

Address: N/A. Date of the alleged crime: June 20, 2025. 

1 — Aggravated assault (deadly weapon), level 7 felony. 

2 — Aggravated assault (deadly weapon), level 7 felony.

Description: Hoy is accused of brandishing a golf club during an argument with two other people, placing them in reasonable fear of imminent bodily harm.

State of Kansas vs. Bobby Richardson.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-146. Year of Birth: 1962. 

Address: Belle Plaine Date of the alleged crime: June 10, 2025. 

1 — Violation of protection order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Richardson is accused of violating a protection-from-abuse order by sending texts or instant messages to the protected person.

State of Kansas vs. Jenifer Rains

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-147. Year of Birth: 1974

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: June 6, 2025

1 — Animal cruelty, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Rains is accused of neglecting eight dogs by not supplying food, water, protection from the elements, opportunity for exercise, and other health needs.

State of Kansas vs. Mathew Lee Redding

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-148. Year of Birth: 1995. 

Address: Unknown. Date of the alleged crime: May 19, 2025. 

1 — Interference with law enforcement (felony), level 9 felony. 

2 — Traffic contraband into a correctional facility, level 6 felony.

Description: Redding is accused of refusing to cooperate with law enforcement during a traffic stop. It was eventually discovered that the defendant was wanted on a series of felony warrants out of Oklahoma.

State of Kansas vs. Clayton John Jacobs

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-149. Year of Birth: 1979. 

Address: Cimarron, Kans. Date of the alleged crime: June 21, 2025. 

1 — Transportation of an open container, unclassified misdemeanor. 

2 — Possession of THC, Class B misdemeanor.

3 — No proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Jacobs is accused of possessing an open container of Smirnoff Ice and a container of EXTRA-X 10 mg THC gummies. He also had no proof of insurance for the vehicle he was driving.

State of Kansas vs. Michael Hendrickson

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-150. Year of Birth: 1990. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: June 23, 2025.

1 — Aggravated indecent liberties with a child, level 4 felony. 

Description: Hendrickson is accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with an underage girl.
